Special Needs

If you are interested in adopting a special needs rabbit, please go to our Adoption Application.

Jean-Luc
Jean-Luc
This lovable little boy weighs just under 3 pounds and his birthdate is April 1, 2010. He has Dutch, Dwarf, and Silver Marten ancestors: a perfect combination, as you can see. His right eye is blue, left eye has a colorful split iris.
UPDATE 8/15/10: Jean-Luc has developed head tilt. He is under treatment and will be available for adoption once he has recovered. Poor little bun …

UPDATE 10/2/10: He’s now stabilized and his little head is at 11AM instead of 9! Some of the time it is straight up, but he’ll still always be a special needs bunny because the vestibulitis tends to recur.
UPDATE 11/30/10: He’s recovered and only a bunny vet would be able to tell he was ever sick. His weight is now 3.26 lbs. Still a little bunny, and completely done growing. Jean-Luc now zooms around the room as if nothing was ever wrong. He’s quite the dancer, too. We know someone will want him because he’s so small, loving and adorable!

Pancake

Pancakes
A little rabbit at about 4-4.5 lbs, Pancakes needs a special home where people will be understanding about his “condition” (much too embarrassing to discuss here – please email larabbits@earthlink.net for details). Pancakes is warming up to people after being abandoned at about 6 months of age. He’s now over a year old and done growing. Please adopt this cute guy and give him a chance at a better life in a permanent, loving home.

Fluffston II
He runs up to you to say hello and will follow you around! What a love bug. Serious adoption inquiries only: fluffy bunnies require extra grooming.

UPDATE 11/1/11: Fluffston has some dental issues and is having an operation. He will be a Special Needs bunny for adopters who can commit to his vet care.

Bonnie
After four years of being locked up in a bird cage, Bonnie has an understandable mistrust of human beings. It may be a blessing that she was finally abandoned and can now find a humane home. NO cage for our rabbit girl, please! Bonnie may qualify as our Least Adoptable Rabbit because she hates to be touched by humans although she makes lots of eye contact, but we believe that there is a family for everyone out there. She needs people who will just let her be a rabbit in their home and take pleasure in feeding her hay, greens and occasional bits of fruit because that makes her a happy bunny.
