Elphie

Elphie got his name from the long teeth that were sticking out of his mouth when he was rescued. Someone abandoned him in a park where he had almost no chance of survival! Fortunately for him, someone caught him and brought him to the animal shelter (which is where he should have gone in the first place, since his people couldn't or wouldn't get him veterinary care). We don't know who needs to hear this, but as the old HRS saying goes, dumping a small prey animal like a bunny outside does not make him "free," it makes him "food." And it isn't as though he can chew off grasses or branches to survive, either!

The animal shelter staff and volunteers reached out to us and we agreed to take him in (this was BEFORE we discovered that Petra and Gummy Bear also needed incisor removals!). He's been neutered and vaccinated, and now we're just waiting until his one top tooth grows back in before all his front teeth get removed.

Elphie has an outgoing, loving personality and runs right up to you for pets and food. We think anyone will be lucky to have him. And one great benefit to having a front-toothless rabbit: You don't have to bunny-proof as much!
We think Elphie might like a bunny friend, once he's all healed from his operation. Maybe Petra?
